DVP049 Exodus 36:1 (February 18)

"Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whom the LORD has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the LORD has commanded."

God has proceeded to give Moses the precise instructions for building the objects of worship and sacrifice for God. Utensils, garments, tents, tables, and more.

The construction of these objects was through God-gifted craftsmen. Their precision creation was an art, and the completed objects were a sign of the holiness of God.

Many details are recorded in scripture of these objects and this shows us that they were real, that they actually existed. Each object had it's own significance also - keeping in mind that they represent God's holiness in some way will make their specific meaning clearer.

Now, we do not require these things for our worship. This is because we have direct access to God through his Spirit, thanks to Jesus. The heavenly things which the objects of Old Testament worship represented are now immanent in their arrival. When Christ returns, his people will be able to enter the heavenly sanctuary for real.
