DVP084 Joshua 10:12 (March 25)

At that time Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, "Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon."

This event, famous to many who have never even read the bible, gives the account of how God stopped the sun and the moon to make the day long enough for Israel to achieve total victory in battle.

The physics clearly doesn't work, but that is the point of a miracle, which works against the normal pattern of nature. Instead of using this record of events as a cause to doubt the truth of the bible, we should realise that something so great is effortless for God to make happen.

If we can believe that God has made a universe, then what is it to him to "pause" some part of it without affecting anything else!
